Tips to win at Blackjack
Cheating in Blackjack. The best-known method: card counting.
It is one of the games that has long been a favorite with cheaters. There was even a team at the time that specialized in card counting: they were called MIT Blackjack. The famous player Andy Bloch, who was a professional poker player, was a member of this team and was active in all the casinos in the United States in the 90s.
However, you should know that cheating in Blackjack can put you in jail, and this article will not condone it in any way. For your information, we’ve provided you with the famous Blackjack cheating methods here. However, please note: many Internet users have contacted us to let us know that they find it outrageous to consider counting as a fraud and that it should be used. The debate is open, everyone is free to have his opinion!
Since the pile of Blackjack cards, in some casinos, is not reshuffled at each move, it would be possible to memorize each card that is dealt and to draw probabilities of being dealt at each new move. For example, if most of the tricks were dealt in the last few moves, one would hope that the next card would not be “painted”. This becomes more and more complex if you add this count to all the cards earning from 1 to 10 points. By adding “1’unit” or one less unit to each card, one could statistically deduce which card would probably fall the most at the next draw. Yes, even the counting methods involved a pass/fail percentage, just like in poker!
In 2009, an iPhone application for card counting was released and is naturally banned for use in all casinos. The “Blackjack Card Counter”, delivered for barely 3 dollars, has been making the buzz for several months, even if its use in practice is of course not very discreet given the size of the phone.
To definitively remedy this problem of “card counting” never really forbidden by casinos, they have been trying for several years to invest in automatic machines that replace the original Deck. Taking the example of the automatic card shufflers found in the largest poker tables, the machine called “CSM” will shuffle all the cards, even those presented at the previous shuffle. Thus, as in roulette, the percentage of new cards that are dealt have the same chance of being dealt out as in the previous round.
Blackjack Tips
There are many tricks. All of them are based on statistics that must be mastered. It is by having memorized these strategies that professional players then try to vary the game according to their instincts.
With a so-called “hard” hand (ranging from 1 to 11 points), you will always have to draw a card. With a 12 point hand, it is not advisable to draw a card if the dealer is at 4, 5 or 6. Between 12 and 16 points, do not draw a card if the dealer has between 2 and 6 points. Finally, with 17 points, you will win more often by not drawing any other cards.
With a soft hand (11 points with an Ace), always draw a card until you get 17 points. If you have 18 points and the dealer has between 9 and 10 points, draw a card. Beyond 19 points, never draw an extra card.
When should I double?
With a stiff hand, it is advisable to double only if you have a starting hand between 9 and 11 points. If you have 11 points, double all the time unless the dealer has drawn an Ace (he is very lucky to draw different combinations and win the hand). If you have 10 points, double if the dealer has a 10 or an Ace. Finally, if you are at 9 points, double if the dealer has 3, 4, 5 or 6.
With a soft hand, double if the dealer has 5 or 6 points and you have more than 18 to start with. If the dealer has a 4, double unless you have 13, 14 or more than 18 points. Finally, if the dealer shoots a 3 and you have 17 or 18 points, you can double.
In which case should I cut?
It is not advisable to cut a pair of Aces with an 8 or a pair of Aces, 5 or 4. Generally speaking, you should cut when the dealer has between 2 and 8 points (his range of possible final hands being so wide, it is very difficult to calculate a perfectly correct probability).
Tips for winning at Roulette
- Roulette is a game of luck. Therefore, there is no way to guarantee a winning streak. However, a few tips and strategies can be of great help to increase the chances of winning.
- To begin with, it is advisable to avoid the 00. While European roulette wheels only have a 0, American roulette wheels have a 0 and a 00. Roulette bets pay according to what the odds would be if there were no zero. Thus, the less zero the wheel counts, the more favourable it is to the player.
- It also avoids the top bet, which covers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. This is the bet that players can choose at American Roulette tables. Covering an odd number of numbers decreases the odds. This bet offers the worst odds for the player, with a house advantage of almost 8%.
- Finally, “martingale” betting systems, where you have to double the bet every time you lose, are unlikely to work. They could be devastating to your bankroll.
Tips for Winning Keno
In this game, 20 balls will be randomly drawn out of the 80 present. It seems very difficult to find a real trick to win this game. However, you should know that if you choose an average number of balls without spending too much money, you have a better chance of making a profit. Indeed, it is advisable to choose between 7 and 8 numbers for an occasional player, and between 6 and 9 numbers for a confirmed player.
Moreover, do not choose only one number. If you play only one number, it gives you 20 chances to find the right number, and the chances of drawing a single number are very low. The casino pays very little on a single number. Therefore, it is best to play multiple bets.
Finally, choose a casino that offers Keno at an advantageous price: depending on the group of numbers chosen, the amount allocated to the winner can be much more advantageous from one casino to another. So do some research before you get into the game.
Tips for winning at Baccarat
Choose the maxi Baccarat rather than the mini Baccarat. With the maxi, you will be able to play much faster and for bigger winnings. Bet most often on the banker unless your gambling instincts take over.
Beware of cards 6 and 4. The 4 is statistically the one that favors the banker’s situation. The 6, on the other hand, puts the player in a good position if he has more than one.
Do not bet on a tie. Statistically, a tie is a rare occurrence in Baccarat.
In the casino, choose tables with more than one deck of cards in the shoe. Since a new deck comes up each time, this favors the player.
Whatever you do, be aware that Baccarat is a game of chance. Don’t play a lot to begin with, it will help you avoid cold sweats.
Finally, let’s talk about the “Alembert method”. If you win, play half of what you’ve just won to reduce your chances of losing in the end. This way, you will play as long as possible and enjoy the game without risking ruin.
Craps Winning Tips
Have good bankroll management: Before you want to win at Craps, you need to manage your bankroll, i.e. the money you are going to use for the game. Indeed, the result of a roll of the dice is defined by chance, but not your bets! So, if you manage your bets correctly and make the right moves at the right time, you can hope to win in the long run.
Don’t bet more than 1/20th or 1/50th of your bank at each game. This will reduce your risk of loss.
Know your chances of success and failure at your fingertips. There are 36 possible combinations and different probabilities for each outcome. For example, the exit probability of 7 is 1 out of 36, or 16.7%. 2 and 12 are the least likely outcomes since they are 1 in 36, or less than 2%. By being aware of these numbers in your mind, you can then deduce the right attitude to observe when placing your bets.
In any case, Craps is a game that is largely governed by chance, and there is no need to bet more during a losing streak. The “tilt” (a player who is on a bad streak and has lost his or her head) is a feeling that can exist not only in poker, but in all other casino game areas.
Tips for winning at Rummy
The famous card game is played very quickly and is very popular in circles of friends. Prefer the draw pile rather than the discard pile. At the beginning of the game, take a card from the deck instead, since it is totally unknown to your opponents, it could be of much better quality for your combinations, and finally you avoid that it is used by your opponents.
Throw the right cards. When throwing away cards that you are not interested in, choose the ones that might be of least interest to your opponents. Look carefully at the cards they throw away (their values, whether they are looking for a straight, etc.) and keep the cards you think they would like to play as long as possible.
We advise you to concentrate above all! Stay as attentive as possible to your opponents’ actions. A sign of discontent after drawing a strong card may indicate a search for a card you may have in your hand. Remember the cards that have been discarded as you go along in the discard pile.
As in any card game, regular practice will give you a serious advantage over your opponents. You will be more alert than your opponents and will notice early on a lot of signs that could betray their play. What makes a good Rummy player is of course his luck, but also his ability to be receptive to all the clues that may be visible in the opponents’ behavior.
Tips for winning on the Money Wheel
The oldest and one of the most popular casino games, it consists of a vertically placed wheel that spins and is divided into 54 squares. Each square represents a number or symbol representing a particular payout. If you bet on all 24 boxes representing 1 you win 1 times your bet. If you bet on all 15 of these boxes, you win twice your bet. And so on and so forth.
There is no miracle method to win in this game, although the Alembert method (see for Baccarat above) can be applied here. It consists of doubling the amount bet each time until you win, and then betting half your profit right afterwards. A method that can work in roulette and can be applied here as well. Be careful though, it is risky.
Tips for winning at Backgammon
Protect your checkers and don’t leave them isolated as they are easy prey. Give your opponent as few opportunities as possible to hit your checkers. It’s best not to move your checkers more than 6 intervals apart and thus be covered in case of an attack.
However, some strategies in the game rely heavily on leaving your checkers exposed to your opponent, as this is a strategic way to block him more easily. Adopt various positions on the board, they will offer you, whatever the result of your dice, many possibilities.
Build walls, they will allow you to block your opponent and he won’t be able to enter your area after hitting. But some rules are to be respected like not neglecting the order of construction of your walls. It is better to build, starting with the first on point number 5, then 4, etc… Separate your checkers located in the opponent’s zone before your opponent has built his walls too. You will be able to afford to risk a few moves without it playing to your disadvantage.
Fight for point 5 on your side but also on his, move the checker if he puts a checker on your point 5, and if he plays on his, hit if you have the opportunity.
Do not put 5 or more checkers on a point as this will force you to make bad moves, but spread them over the other points.
Keep both your own and your opponent’s home board occupied: this will make it easier for you to remove the checkers you hit. But beware of the risk of a return attack if you attack your opponent.
Concentrate and don’t hit if it doesn’t help you. The goal is to trap your opponent’s checkers by making a blocking wall and to make your own checkers escape before they are imprisoned.
